On February 21st and 22nd, ten members of California Chi made the short trip to Woodland Hills to participate in the 2020 Carlson Leadership Academy.
Executive board officers from the entirety of the West Coast gathered to receive first in class training in each of the positions. Facilitated by some of SigEp’s most experienced alumni, Carlsons affords each executive board member to learn best practices from chapters around the state.
Members are challenged to engage, network, and grow as they explore the unique challenges of each role on the executive board. Several aware were given out throughout the weekend highlight high performing chapters and outstanding undergraduate leaders.
The highlight of Cal Chi’s evening came when it was announced that our own chapter president Calvin Foss had been selected as a 2020 Tragos Quest to Greece Scholar. Calvin will spend tens daysexploring ancient historical sites such as Athens, Delphi, Nauplion, Corinth, Mycenae and Olympia. Brothers explore the foundations of the fraternal world, experience SigEp’s ritual in a new light and study the philosophies of Socrates and Aristotle while walking the same streets where those great minds taught.
The Quest study abroad experience is unprecedented and unmatched in the fraternity world. The program is named for and made possible by a generous gift from Past Grand President William G. Tragos, Washington in St. Louis ’56, and his wife, Lilli.
